Unicorn Center, Inc., an animal-based therapy and recreation organization and animal rescue program, is dedicated to serving those with special needs in a safe, positive learning environment, and providing shelter and rehabilitation to animals in need. We serve children and adults with learning disabilities, emotional disorders, physical disabilities, as well as at-risk youth and the elderly, pairing each participant with a loving animal. Our four-legged “therapists” include horses, ponies, and miniature equines.
Relying solely on donations for funding, The Center is currently run by an Executive Board, and a small, non-paid staff. Through the generous support of a local landowner, we are able to operate at a beautiful farm with excellent facilities.
However, with the continued generous support of the community and local business owners, The Center hopes to expand its services to include in-door activity space for after-school programs, as well as a day-camp facility for summer activities for children and teens.
